hair today, gone tomorrow?

today my co-workers were calling me "esther barlow" and asking me what polygamists colt i was joining....i mean, can you blame them?
my hair was kind of the joke of the day.... myself included. so much so that the boys {dan} decided they needed to measure the height of my hair to see how righteous i am.
the point is, am at a total loss with my hair. my running schedule makes doing my hair completely useless. i'm not one of those girls that's willing to give up my sleep time in the name of having my hair done. it takes me 50, yes, 50 minutes to blow dry and straighten my hair. hell on earth. and i'm not willing to do that every other day {if not more often to have my hair done.}. so usually i end up going to work with nasty pony tails, wet hair, or curly hair... it's just not pretty. and even when i do pull it up, i have so much of it that it just doesn't stay up well anymore. the other night i saw this....

i have not been able to stop thinking about it since. i mean, it would be cutting 4 maybe 5 inches off my hair. i know that doesn't sound like a lot, but then again we're not talking about your hair here. i've thought about the pro's and con's, and truth be told the pro's out weigh the con's. the only bad thing i can think of is; i've always wanted to have long hair for my wedding. i'm not not getting married, or even dating someone for that matter, but what if i cut my hair and then meet my future mr the next day?... then i will have short hair for my wedding? but then i'd meet my mr... catch 22 right? {by the way, what does that even mean?!} i think i'm going to do it. unless someone can talk me off the ledge, i might just be making a hair appointment this weekend.... tell me what ya think.

i just want you all to remember what my hair looked like today.... yikes.

I think you make a good point about your running schedule and not doing your hair - I say cut it. You have had long hair for quite a while now and you aren't going drastic. It will be a fun change and so much more manageable - so much so I think you'll love it.

As for the long hair for your wedding, your hair grows fast, you aren't going way short, and when you meet your Mr. you can start growing it out then. Besides - updo's can be done with not so long hair and they still look long.

do. it.

thats exactly why i cut my hair. the time. (and it was way damaged) but it also takes me FOREVER to blow dry and straighten my hair. Its soooo much easier to do now that its short. thats a cute lenght, and if you meet your husband you can always do extensions.

You.. have seen my hair right? I think it would be so cute on you. And don't base a haircut of the future base it off what YOU want right now for you. Disregard everything else and have fun.. P.S. I love you.

Girlfriend, you have got to invest in dry shampoo. Maybe you already have it, but it's seriously a life saver. I'm a runner too and I still don't wash my hair more than twice a week because of the dry shampoo (and because, like you, I refuse to do my hair beginning to end more than that). It's the best. Keeps it from getting greasy so you can go more days in between washing (and drying/straightening/etc...ugh).

That being said, I LOVE the haircut and I think it'd look super cute on you.

love you with short hair but I am dying to see it down and long! post a before and after picture so I can see how long your hair is! But if you were polygamist, your hair style would by the best!

Hilarious! when i saw the link to your blog from facebook i only saw your photo - first thought was "what's with the polygamist look?" then when i clicked the link that was your first sentence! i laughed. but it was still cute.

also... i have had long hard my whole life... most of the time it's in a lame bun because i need it out of my face when i run and work. But you know... the days i ACTUALLY do, do my hair... it's all worth it.

as for meeting your mr... seriously. when you start dating a guy - start growing it out again. i mean... you're not gonna marry him the next day. by the time your wedding came around your hair would be long again. if not, get extensions. no big deal.

DO IT! Seriously, if you can't stop thinking about it then just bite the bullet and do it. I think it will look so good on you and hair grows back. Plus you can take pre-matal vitamins if you meet your mr and it will grow faster (and then you'll be all ready for a baby :)).

Your hair does grow fast and Sandra's cut isn't really that short. HOWEVER, your hair is so beautiful, it seems a shame to cut it.

Basically, I think you'll like whatever you do because you have the single greatest head of hair.

I'm such a help.

I could be as much (or as little) help as Jamie...

just speaking from experience, but not to discourage, because I'm all about a new haircut to change your outlook on life AND reduce the getting ready daily process. BUT, consider that you have lovely, healthy, THICK hair. Sandra does NOT. Lovely and healthy, yes, but her hair is thin. Which is why that cut works on her. Like I said, from experience, trying to do a thin-hair-person's cut on a thick-hair-person's head can turn out to have disastrous consequences, and it's possible you may end up looking like you're wearing a mushroom on top. People with thin hair will say they envy your thick beautiful locks, but I'm telling you, it can also be a curse. Spoken from the mom of girls who take 50 minutes to dry their hair.

If you are wondering, "who is this crazy lady giving me unsolicited advice?", ask your darling Mom. I married an obnoxious neighbor of hers and I met you when you were just a little tiny bouncy Brooke who was possibly my husband's favorite out of all you cute Jensen girls....

I linked over to your blog from Amy's. Hope that's okay, because I love reading it, and Mike loves getting the update on your cute family. (Mike's first job was working for your dad... about 30 years ago.)

Your hair will be beautiful no matter what you do!

And p.s.... how do you know Ali? I live around the corner from her mom! Love those guys!
