I'm very flattered!

I had no idea that my simple chicken skewers would be such a hit. Here are the answer to the questions that were asked.
Jill: Yes there is shrimp on them, it was Princess' idea, but it was really really good! Also I found a lemon pepper marinade at Harmon's. It was really tasty!
Jamie: I did just broil them in my oven, I cooked them for about ten minutes then turned them over and cooked them for another ten.
We added jalapenos between some of the pieces of chicken for a little extra spice, sooooo good. After they were done cooking we added a little extra marinade, and fresh lemon juice. It really only took my about a half hour to put them together and let me cook, and they seriously so good!
P.S. They have also made great leftovers!

Me and a friend of mine (he asked that I don't name his name, we'll refer to him as Princess) decided that we would make a healthily dinner. So I made red homemade mashed potatoes and chicken skewers. I'm not going to lie I did a mighty fine job! It tasted so good and was a totally hit with Princess. (I'm sorry there are so many pictures of me, but Princess didn't want to photographed.) It was way fun making dinner and even more fun eating! The fun things I do in St. Geroge right?

My new purchase!

I have wanted a Camelbak for a while now. Today I decided to finally break down and get one. This next paycheck has my incentives included, and I did pretty good this month. I decided to celebrate and buy what I've been wanting for awhile now. It's back ordered so I'm not sure when I'll get it. Hopefully by August 16th, I'm going hiking with Jacob that day. So if anyone is looking to go hiking please invite me so I can utilize my new purchase!

I'm looking for a hiking buddy.

Last fall I went up and hiked through Zion's National Park. It was absolutely beautiful! I'm dying to get back up there, but I'm lacking a key element, a hiking buddy. I wanted to go up this weekend, but my Mother told me I couldn't go by myself. So now I'm looking for someone to go with me. Zion's is absolutely breathtaking and it's worth the money and the time to go there. This is the view from the top of Angles Landing, that is the hike I did. It was pretty hard, it's 2.5 miles up, all switch backs, and then 2.5 miles down really steep terrain. It doesn't need to be this weekend, but if anyone is interested in going please please let me know!!!! My only friend (Ben) told me he wouldn't go until it cooled off, princess can't handle the heat! So if anyone is looking for a hiking extravaganza I'm your go to girl!

What a weekend!

Consider this your official warning that this post has a LOT of pictures!!!! I had the best weekend ever at home! I got to spend literally every minute with my family, could anything be better!? I surprised my mom by coming home Wednesday night, she thought I was coming up Friday night, I don't know how excited she really was to see me. The next morning I went and hung out with two of my most favorite people Jamie and Annie. We went shopping and to lunch, I had so much fun being with her. It was some good bonding time! Friday I went and hung out with one of my other favorite people Amy and 7 little people, I had so much fun being out there with her. We just hung out, but it didn't matter, I love being with Amy! Saturday was Jenny's party, so much fun. (I did get to spend all morning with Heidi, so much fun!) I think everyone involved had a great time! Today was church and a LONG drive home. I had so much fun being home, thanks so much to everyone who makes my trips home the best!!!!! I miss you all already!

The harsh reality!

Well I'm back in St. George after a long drive home. Coming home is always my least favorite thing. I always have so much at home, and coming back to St. George makes me ask myself everytime, "Why do I live down here?!" I'm just keeping my faith that there is a reason why, I just wish that I knew! I had so much fun being at home, and already miss you all like crazy! Thanks for making my trips up to SLC so much fun!

Better late then never.

Seeing is that I wasn't at work today I didn't get a chance to do my thoughts for the week. Better late then never, so here they are....
-I LOVE getting random texts!!!!!
-I hate when people "didn't get my texts" or "forgot to text back".
-I think a three day work weeks is good for me.
-I'm really never having kids.
-I've seen Batman twice, loved it both times.
-I got to see the wonderful Annie Salmon today, I miss her and am excited for her to get her bum back down to St. George.
-I was really "sick" today! Meaning I couldn't work. Shoot!
-Jamie and I were at Nordstroms and watched a shoplifter get spear tackled, talk about right place and the right time!
-Mike Neider discouraged me from ever wanting to get married.
-I got to hang out with Jamie all day yesterday, and Amy+7 all day today! Heidi your day is tomorrow, keep a stiff upper lip solider!
-I found a kid I went to high school with walking down the street the other day and invited him over for dinner and drove him home. Talk about random!!! (While in SLC)
-Jamba Juice is my absolute favorite treat to get while in SLC, my favorite treat in general is probably.... the watermelon sour patch kids! YUMMY!!!
-I officially bestow Amy with the "Queen of Blogging Comments" award! No one else even came close, sorry guys, better luck next year!
-I'm LOVING my new blog background!!!

I really am cute!

OK, I already know I'm going to get made fun of for this post, but I don't care! You know how when you look at pictures you find 500 that you hate and 2 that you actually kind of like. (even if you won't admit to it!) This is that picture for me! I have been thinking that I'm not very cute for the last week, but when I saw this picture I thought, Hey I can be cute! So go ahead make fun of me, I don't care, this was the self esteem boost that I needed!

Last night I was looking at a lot of picture thinking that I really should lose weight! I don't want to be a "sweet spirit", or one of those girls who is only a face, and I don't want to get the guy who likes "bigger" girls! (Only meaning I don't want to fall into the group! Becuase I really don't want the shallow guy!) So last night I decided to do something about it, I Brooke Jensen am going to lose weight! I went running last night, and started eating a little bit more heathly today. I'm sick of being the fat sister, so that is it, I'm going to do something about it! Hopefuly I can stick with this attitude, becuase seriously I want to be the totally package, and I want to look really good in my swimsuit in Hawaii! I'M GOING TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!

Shout out to SLC!

I had a wonderful weekend up in Salt Lake! It started off with a fun drive with Ben, if anyone is going on a road trip invite Ben, time goes by faster. When I got up to SLC Jill and I went and saw The Dark Knight, it was really good, scary, but good. Saturday morning me and most (minus Jenny) of the Jensen girls went to the Salt Lake City Farmer's market. (Sorry I don't have a picture, but everyone else's blog does!) After that I went and met up with my friends to go boating. Seriously I'm still sore! After boating we went to Training Table, SOOOOOO good! Then we went and hung out at Andy's house. Sunday was church and a fun Sunday at home with the family! It was such a good weekend to be home and spend time with people I love! Thanks for hanging out with me while I was up there. After a 5 hour drive I made it safely back to St. George, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Back to real life

Well we made it back to St. George safely, even though it took us almost 5 hours! (Thanks Ben!) All is well and life continues, I'm already back at work wishing I was on vacation some where! I will post pictures tonight of my weekend, until then, keep a stiff upper lip! It was fun to be home and see so many of you! Stand by for more................

A few random pictures

I realized I haven't put very fun pictures of my life on my blog lately. Here are the few that have accumulated. They are all pretty random, but I loved all of them! And to think I think my life is boring!?

Andy came to visit me the other night. We had an entire photo shoot, this one was my most favorite! I don't think anything could better depict our friendship!
Ben and I went to look at furniture for Mom and Dad's house, Ben found this fridge and it was OVER! I think he stood like this and played with it for almost 20 minutes! SERIOUSLY! (and yes he does have a fake Chinese tattoo on his arm!)
I went and saw the Joseph Smith movie last night, after the movie I sat at the temple for awhile. It was absolutely beautiful! This picture doesn't do it justice!
Ben didn't believe me that plungers stick to your stomach, so I had to prove it to him, in the middle of Target!
These are my enchiladas I made the other night. They were so freaking good! I was so proud of myself so I took a picture!

You know Ben thinks I take to many pictures, but anytime we do anything he always says, "You should blog about this!" Sooner or later he'll appreciate my efforts to document our summer escapades!

Do they really not get it?!

Ben is the brother to torment that I never really got. Last night I noticed that Ben has the longest eyelashes I have ever seen on a guy, after much persuading, I convinced him to let me put mascara on him! Hook line and sinker he let me put more makeup on him, and I loved every minute of it! After a few good laughs and hilarious pictures I helped him take it off. While I was washing his face for him he said, "I'm so glad I'm not a girl, it's a lot of work!" It was like a light bulb finally went off in his head! It made me realize, guys really don't get how much work it is being a girl! From makeup, to hair, clothes, the magic time of the month, the always changing hormones, and everything else I missed. I doubt that men will ever understand what goes into getting ready for the day. I go to all the work to look good, and then they don't even notice until I don't have makeup on and I look like a cave woman! I guess that is just one of the many differences between men and women!

What a Weekend....NOT!

Well my weekend shall go down in history as the most boring weekend ever! Friday afternoon on my lunch I went to Best Buy and bought an ipod shuffle in efforts to lift my spirits. Friday after work I went home and played on itunes for probably 4 or 5 hours. I got it all set up, and was very excited to have it so I could have so some tunes to listen to while I laid out on Saturday. After a long grueling night of nothing I went to bed at 10:25. It poured Friday all through the night I and woke up to a very wet, cloudy, humid day! No laying out for Brooke!:( I ran a few errands, and came back and watch 6 episodes of I love the New Millennium. (which was absolutely hilarious!) I made enough enchiladas to feed six, all for myself! After that I ran to Walgreen's to pick up some pictures, came back home took a bubble bath and went to bed. (at 10:45) EXCITING! Sunday I woke up went to church came home and took a nap. I was excited because Andy came down last night. I did break the Sabbath and we went to dinner, after dinner we went back to my apartment and just hung out. I loved having someone to hang out with! Especially my best friend! So that wraps up my boring weekend, I probably just bored you to sleep! Please keep me in your prayers that I'll find some good friends! SOON!!!!

Thoughts for the week....

Well folks, here is what you've been waiting for all week! The inner thoughts of Brooke Jensen...
-Today I spearheaded a DFCU family fun night for my branch, and I'm SO excited!
-I guess the St. George Branch is now know as "MY branch"
-I hate getting ready but love how I feel the days that I do. (Like today. This morning I look in the mirror and thought, "Damn Gina!")
-Today a man came in and told me how "shity" the world is and then left! I'm not sure what he wanted, he was crazy.
-I'm pretty lame, if Ben has plans other then me, I have none!
-Any lemon flavored drink tastes like pledge.
-Brad comes home 8 months from today!!! YAY!!!!
-I have zero plans this weekend, Scrapbooking here I come!
-Jimmy John's are my favorite sandwiches. ( I had one for lunch today)
-I got 11 1/2 hours of sleep last night, and I still had a hard time waking up this morning.
-I'm pretty sure I need to go to Facebook and Blogging anonymous, first step admitting the problem. I Brooke Jensen have a problem!
-I cleaned the branch break room yesterday, NEVER EVER AGAIN! There was Cafe Rio in there from 3 months ago, SICK!
-If you pay tithing with a bad attitude are the blessings counteracted?!
-I got August 22nd off, Girl's weekend here I come!
-Ben told me there was no such thing as a perfect 10, do you think that is true?
-I went to Best Buy today and the cutest guy helped, he was totally hitting on him! I'm being serious, I'm not just saying to make myself feel better! He forgot to ask for my number! LAME!

VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben needed to go to his car dealership in Vegas Monday night and asked if I wanted to tag along. Of course I wanted to, I'm always up for Vegas, although this time it was just a short little trip. By the time we got down there the dealership was closed so we just went to dinner. We went to Cesar's Palace and ate at Cheesecake Factory, YUMMY! It wasn't very late so we thought we would kill some time by heading to "The Largest Gift Shop in the World".(I don't even believe that!) We had a great time laughing at all the stupid stuff, but didn't leave without the essentials, you know, a boa, a bride and groom crown, and matching rings! We then tried to find the creepiest wedding chapel in Vegas, check, The Chapel of the Flower! HAHA, enough said. After a brief photo shoot, we headed home. We had a ton of fun, and I'm already looking forward to the next Vegas extravaganza!

My best friends!

Today I'm not going to be negative! I thought that I would blog about my favorite people! The Jensen (Bentley, Neider) girls! I have been blessed with having amazing sisters that are my best friends. I love each one of them for very different reasons:
Jenny: Is the life of any party, she is so much fun to be around and can make a dull situation fun!
Amy: Always goes above and beyond! She makes everything extra special, and is ALWAYS willing to help! (even though she has her 5 midgets!) I also admire the amazing mom that is she!
Mom: Mom could have a whole blog dedicated to the many reasons I love her! My mom is such a good example to me in every aspect of my life!
Heidi: Heidi is my favorite person to vent to, she is my advocate, she always takes my side and makes any bad situation seem ok. Heidi is always doing something so fun with her kids, how lucky for them that they will have those memories!
Jill: Jill is the brain I never got, she is my go to girl for any question regardless of what it is! Jill is a great example to me, she is such a hard worker and never quits until she has what she wants! She also has beautiful hair!
Jamie: Jamie is the peace keeper, she is always looking out for the underdog! Jamie is so sensitive to others and their feelings! She is also a really good mom to her FAT little Annie! I also love how happy Jamie always is, I hope when I grow up I can be as happy as she is in life!

When it rains, it pours.

It was a harsh realization being around my friends this past weekend, life continues without Brooke. Even though I haven't been home with my friends they are all together, and I'm kind of the odd man out. My excitement to see them quickly turned to sadness when I realized how out of the loop I am. Not only did things not go well being with them in SLC, I got in a huge fight with my best friend, and realized I couldn't hang out with my only friend in St. George as much. I'm waiting to catch a break down here! Why can't things start falling into play down here? Why can't I just find out how to be happy? Why when it rains does it always pour?!

There's no place like home!!!

I had a wonderful weekend at home! My weekend was full of family, friends, fun, and a LOT of driving!!! I got up to SLC Thursday night and I went and met up with my friends. I had fun with them, it's always good to see them! We just hung out and did a whole lot of nothing. It was great! I drove up to my cabin Friday morning to meet up with the rest of the gang. In true Jensen style I was up there by about 9:15am. It was so nice being up there away from the stresses of real life! I never wanted to come home! We rode 4-wheelers, went down to Oakley to see fireworks, and the best part of all: we did NOTHING! I came home Saturday afternoon stopped by Maga and Papa's to say hi, cute Maga filled my car up with gas for me! Love her!! After Maga and Papa's I headed home and got ready for a DATE. Yes, that's right I Brooke Jensen went on a date! We went and saw Indiana Jones, dumb, and we went and got Maggie Moo's ice cream, yummy! I went to church this morning, and then visited the Bentley residence. I'm now home and it's all just memories, but wonderful ones at that!
