St. Geezy

Oh how I've missed Dixie! Tomorrow I'm gone for 5 days! I cannot wait to be in St. George, St. Geezy here I come!!!!!!

Am I asking for too much?!

So I was reading movie quotes online today. Why, I don't know..... that's beside the point, I stumbled across this little gem....

Finding a place...

Being home is Salt Lake is wonderful! I love all the time I get with my family and I love the Salt Lake Valley. However I feel like I've had a hard time finding my place up here. In St. George I feel like I knew who I was, I fit in with my friends, I had a job that I was good at and that I loved. Up here I just haven't found my niche yet. I was real with myself and I knew that life would be very different from how it was prior to St. George, however I didn't anticipate feeling like I didn't fit it. I don't feel that way with my family at all, but I do with the people my age. A lot of the girls my age have serious boyfriends, are engaged, or even married.... I however am no where near any of those. A lot of the people my age are also well into their schooling and know what they are doing with their lives, I however don't have that either. I feel like because of my time in St. George I missed out on bonding experiences with my friends, and I'm kind of the odd man out. I want to find somewhere up here that I just fit. I've yet to find that, I guess in essence I'm still the new kid on the block. I'm trying my best to be ok with where I am in life and realize that you only get each stage of your life once. I think back to Jamie's post about it "It won't be like this for long." I know it won't... I know I need to work on finding the good in where I am in life and realized that those things I desire will come... just not in my time!

Each day I strive to do what's right and to be the BEST Brooke that I can be. I don't know where I belong yet, but everyday I look to find it. I know good things comes to those who wait... so I'll wait, and even better then that I'll work on being ok with waiting. I'm doing my best to take everyday as it comes, and to relish in the moment, does it sound like I'm doing a good job?! Don't get me wrong I'm a very happy person, and I feel like I'm doing good things in my life. I just want to find that place where I'm happy and content. But then again maybe it's not about finding that place, but it's about making your life that place. Who knows? What I do know is that someone has a great plan for me, and this just part of that plan!

Gotta L-O-V-E the weekend!

I live for the weekend! I can't wait for it to get here and it just never seems to last long enough! This weekend wasn't anything spectacular, but boy was it fun! :) In a nutshell here is my weekend.....

Friday night after work I headed to Mike and Jamie's (which if I never get married I blame them, who has time to date with them around!?) to watch Miss Annie for the evening! Me being the fun aunt that I am didn't stick to bed time and we had a fun evening of playing together....
Saturday afternoon I met Annie Salmon at The Happy Sumo for some delicious sushi! I just love sushi and I must say that The Happy Sumo is some of the best, if not the best, sushi I've ever had. Annie and I did some shopping and then I lost her to Forever 21... I had places to be so I was off to my next event. Next stop, Trent and Amy's for a "Happy Jacob is in town BBQ".......

Trent and Amy's!!! I love BBQ's at their house, there is always too much food, so much fun, and a LOT of noise!!! The entire Jensen gang was there (minus Mike Neider) and boy was it fun! As always it was crazy, and these pictures don't even do it justice!

My Girl's night with Oaks!

I decided to take Oakley for the night after the BBQ. Boy did we have fun!

First on our list....

A Tea Party of course, which consisted of mini M&M's and water.

Next was movie night and painting our nails. We watched the "Princess Show" (Enchanted) and I painted Miss Oakley's nails....

I let her stay up way to late, once again I'm the fun aunt, we took some silly pictures before it was off to bed. Let me tell you Oakley is one snugly bug, she was right next to me all night!

This morning we got up got ready for church, walked to church, entertained each other during church, came home had a snacky snack, now we are once again watching "The Princess Show." I just love my Oakley and can't get enough of her!

Once again it was a wonderful weekend! I can't believe it's already over. This week brings working two jobs, school, and everything else! Wish me luck! :)

Love is in the Air.....

Today my friend Alicia tied the knot! The groupies and I made it so the reception tonight and she looked absolutely beautiful! She and her husband were just glowing, honestly they looked so happy! Both Alicia and her husband Rick are in my home ward, so needless to say the reception was a ward affair. I cannot tell you how many people if I was next, HELLO!? Do they not realize I missing a very important key, nay the key to marriage?!

It was a lot of fun to see old faces from high school, this is my group of friends (minus Michelle)from high school. Brooke on the far right is the next one to tie the knot in August, who knows when the rest of us will get there... Meagan is my bet after Brooke..... anyone want to wager?!

My best buds! Honestly, I just love these girls! I've been so lucky to have had such friends in life. I hope none of us ever get married so we can just stay friends forever! Ok, I don't really wish that, but it is so much fun that they are still around. So yes, love is in the air..... Rick and Alicia, Brooke W. and Cody, Me and my homes! :)

Yesterday I sat in my car just before I went into work, everything was just fine, 6 hours later when I went out to my car there was a 2 foot crack across my windshield. I don't know how it happened or why it happened, quite frankly I think it's extremely lame! Because of how larger it is, and where it is, I need to get a new windshield. :(

LAME!!!!!

Somethings gotta give.....

Yesterday I went on a hike up to the Bells Canyon waterfalls. Overall it was a mildly embarrassing because I just about had a heart attack at the age of 20. In my defense I did have a cold which made the breathing thing a little bit harder, but I did decide that I am out of shape. So.... I'm going to do something about it. June 13 is our stakes, Stake Family Fun Day, part of fun day is a 5k. I Brooke Jensen am going to RUN it. That means training starts tomorrow, I'm going to get my sorry butt into shape. If anyone is interest in running it with me let me know. It's at 7:00 a.m. on the 13 of June, and best of all it's free! Wish me luck!

Food for Thought!

I had a few thoughts and experiences yesterday I felt like blogging about, none of them are really remotely serious. I guess this could be more one of my "Brooke's Thoughts" post. (Haven't done one of these in ages.)
-See the picture of me? Yesterday for my new job I had to go get my employee picture taken. I felt like I was back in middle school, I found myself changing and changing do and undoing my hair, everything you do for a cheesy year book picture, all for an employee picture?! I'll be the first to make fun of myself...I don't know why I cared so much, this is how I ended up, not bad, but...Why am I so weird?!
-I got a parking ticket at school yesterday. Those dang schools try to make an easy buck where ever they can! Losers!
-Have you seen those people who "protest" out side of their place of employment and just stand there with usually two people with a sign that says "Shame on (insert company name)! Labor Dispute!" They make me laugh every time, I hope they get what they want. Also is there a company that just makes a generic protest sign!? HA!
-I'm taking Math this summer, and Lulu legit is my teacher! (for those of you who know who she is...). Math is hard enough to learn in English, let alone in Lulu....
-I know I'm behind the times, but I just discovered Pandora, LOVE IT!
-I've almost been home from SG for a month, it feels like that part of my life is just a dream... How weird it's over.
-I seriously can't remember the last time I was this happy! Isn't life great!?
-I have the world's best friends....which brings me to my next thought.....
-Yesterday was Bridget's birthday, and boy did we party! Ok not really, but being with all my girl friends plus Andy did make me realize how lucky I am to have the friends that I do. There was 6 of us that were connected at the hip through high school. We have all graduated (even me!) and gone away to school, but we have all been able to keep in touch and stay close.
-Bridget and I have lived a block away our whole lives but we have always liked each other. However we have been been BFF's since 8th grade.

Cabin Fever!

We made our first trek up to the cabin this past weekend. As always it provided LOTS, nay TONS, of cleaning, 4-wheeling, family, fun, and WAY to much eating! We were only up there for a night but it was a blasty blast. Jamie and I even faced a courageous battle against 30 angry hornets. Yes, folks we came away on top. I don't have many pictures, but I think theses ones say it all.

Even though it was cold, the kiddos couldn't get enough of the 4-wheelers.
This is what I get for being a smart alec. Amy was trying to get her kids to eat and asked them what shape pancake they wanted, me being a smart alec informed Amy I would like a stegosaurus. Amy truly is wonder woman folks.... for breakfast I ate a stegosaurus. How many people do you know that have done that?!

My life in Salt Lake...

I knew moving home was going to be a HUGE adjustment, and to be very honest I didn't think I would like it. Well I proved myself VERY wrong, I'm loving being home! My weekend activities began Thursday night, me and my girlfriends went to Cafe Rio to celebrate Michelle's birthday! I just love Michelle, I hope you a wonderful birthday Mush!

After dinner we went back to my house and successfully watched 3 hours of Youtube. I'll tell you what, I can NOT believe some of the things people post on the Internet of themselves. We started watching Youtube to see the previews of Glee Club, is anyone else SO excited for the premier of that this week?!
Friday started with a job interview, and ended with a job!!! Thank heavens, what a relief to be employed! Friday day we got together at Julianne's house for a little swimming-cheese cake birthday party.

Saturday brought a busy day with yet another birthday celebration. Saturday afternoon Bridget, Brittney and I went to Porcupine Grill for lunch, I got a BBQ pizza, soo YUMMY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRITTNEY!After lunchy lunch Bridget and I went to Target to get some earrings. Bridget had a hard time narrowing it down, but came away with some killer ones in the end. I got a pretty cute shirt and some earrings myself!

4:00, wedding dressing fitting for Brookie. I still can't believe she getting married! Her dress is beautiful, and she looked so happy! Not much for a picture of her dress, but she wants to keep is under wraps until the big day.... but believe me, she looks so beautiful and skinny in her dress.

Saturday night has a birthday BBQ for Trent, I was slacking with my camera so I don't have any pictures. It was really fun, the food was great and the company was wonderful! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRENT! After the BBQ it was off to Jamie and Mike's for moving night. We watched Taken (great!) and started Doubt (LAME!!), thanks Jamie and Mike for showing us a good time! (Even with the sugar dilemma!)

Some good, nay, GREAT news!!

I just got a phone call from University of Utah Credit Union asking for an interview!! This is the job I really wanted! I interview tomorrow at 11:00, so please keep crossing your fingers and saying a little prayer that tomorrow goes well! YAY!!!!

Cross your fingers and say a little prayer...

I just applied for a job that would be PERFECT!!! It's just the right amount of hours, great location, and I need it! I'm hoping that my job experience will make me a front runner for the position. Everyone cross your fingers and say a prayer that I get this job!!!
*Side note: Idol!!??! Really, Danny!? I hate Adam, I will call and vote for Kris for two straight hours just to ensure that Adam doesn't win! Danny, I'm sad your gone, I miss you already! Your MY American Idol!
