Blah...Blah....Blah....

Seriously folks I've got NOTHING to blog about. So I thought I would post about the things I'm LOVING in life right now....
1. Whippy Cake, I purchased this gem and I L-O-V-E it! Whippy Cake has some of the most adorable things I've yet to lay my eyes on. If you need some fabulous accessories I suggest you check it out..... honestly I love it, and the owner is an absolute doll and joy to work with!
2. My new purse... I found it a Ross, the inside zipper was missing the pull thing, so they gave me 20% off, after leaving I found the pull thing in the bag so I was able to fix it! Best purchase ever! I love it, and love compliments I get while using it.... Ross wins yet again!
3. My vintage dress.... I'm going on a cruise in a couple of weeks and wanted to find the perfect dress for the captains dinner. I found this vintage jewel at a thrift store and couldn't love it more! I can't wait to wear it on my cruise!

4. The Morning Zoo... I don't know how I would handle my commute without these guys! They are absolutely hilarious, and I love listening to them.

5. Diet Coke... No surprise here. I just love the pick me up Diet Coke provides. I've been hooked on fountain DC for the last little while but recently converted to the bottle, it was like I fell in love all over again! I'll be the first to admit it... I'm absolutely addicted! DC is like that dependable friend that is there no matter what, at the end of a bad day a DC is waiting for me telling me, "Hey Brooke, you know what it's going to be ok, wanna know why? Becuase I'm here for your enjoyment, come hither, take a load off and slowly drink me down."

6. My ruffled white shirt... I have been SEARCHING high and low for a white ruffled shirt. I'd yet to find one that really spoke to me. While in Vegas I found it! When we first united I'm almost positive angles started singing, in fact I know they did. Then I tired it on, and then I knew, I knew that there was a reason this shirt and I found one another! I love, love, love it! I want to sleep in it I love it so much. Every time I put it on I feel like one sexy woman, and I fall in love all over again... it was a gift! (that I did have to pay for, but a gift none the less!)

I realize that so much of my happiness comes from wordily materialistic things... is that so bad?!

I hate to brag....

I just got back from the B-E-S-T weekend ever! A vacation was much needed and to make something wonderful even better, I got to go with these girls. Honestly I feel so blessed to call them my friends, I know they are the reason I'm the person I am today. I don't know how people make it through this life without friends like these girls.....

And now.... The Thought of Me!

1. Haven't done this in a while, bet your excited aren't you!?
2. I'm thinking of trying out "Flirty Girl Fitness". It looks sexy, fun, and have you seen the killer bods on the advertisement?! Not only that you can purchase your very own "fitness pole"! BHAHA!!!!
3. I got an awesome promotion yesterday that I've been working ever so hard to get. I will be leaving Draper, tear, I'm headed to the Research Park branch. My main objective of the transfer is to find a rich doctor seeking a wife.... (Ok just joking, but seriously if you know anyone looking.) In all seriousness I'm so excited about the transfer, I feel like I've worked really hard to get here.
4. Jill is getting married and she and Cameron are kicking me out. (In fact prior to the engagement I told Jill and Cameron once it was official I was moving out, not even 12 hours later they were engaged, bad timing? Maybe) Two options Pioneer Park, or Trent and Amy's. After talking to both Amy and Bozo the hobo I opted for Trent and Amy's. I'm so excited to move in, and even more excited that I'll get to stay in the ward I'm in now. (I'm going to church these days, that's how good it is.)
5. My co-workers are mad at me for leaving, so mad in fact that Chris said.... "I hope you get attacked by a whale and die on your way home." I think that Sea World story is getting to him.
6. Speaking of Sea World, what the heck! What a crappy way to die, being eaten alive by a killer whale! And second of all why would you make a pet out of anything with the work "killer" in it?
7. The Olympics have become my new best friend, I'm heart broken they are almost over.
8. I think I'm ready to do it.... I'm breaking up with Facebook. I find myself comparing myself to others all the time, and if I hear about ONE more person getting engaged I may just punch a baby. OK!?
9. Finding out an ex that you really loved is engaged reminds me of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. You know, where they rip his heart out just just star at it beat. Yep... it's safe to say I now know how that guy feels.
10. Dear Husband, I know why I haven't found you.... I'm entirely too selfish and adore having new things. Look on the bright side, once we get married it should all be out of my system. In the mean time just keep saving!
Love, Your wife.
11. Favorite conversation as a result of the Olympics,
Dad: Watching ice dancing is like watching the Fugitive.
Jill: Really. Why is that?
Dad: You know, the train wreck in it.
hahahahhaha, still makes me laugh.
12. I stopped by my parents house today between commitments today. Do you want to know how I got to spend my Saturday? Cleaning up toilet paper. The little punks that did it better sleep with one eye open!
13. Oh Thursday I'm going to St. George for the weekend with my best friends, it couldn't possibly be coming at a better time. Will everyone do me a favor however, will you pray that I don't run into Kason?! Thanks.
14. Sin City baby! (Friday)
15. While on the travel note, 6 weeks from today I will be aboard a cruise on my way to Cabo! Can't come soon enough.

Moving Onward...

Where to begin? To be quite frank I don't have have news to report, so instead I thought I would blog about the many emotions I've experienced lately... please note this blog is mostly for journal purposes, and a way to articulate my thoughts, an outlet if you will.

With the start of the new year it's brought it's challenges and trials. I'm at a stage in my life where things are always changing, very uncertain times. Up until now everything in my life has been planned out on a specific time line. Post high school is a different story, life starts changing at different paces for different people. Not needing to go into details this aspect of life has had me down, wondering when God is going to send something wonderful my way. Events started piling one on top of another, and then it happened, I hit my breaking point. I hated my life and everything in it, and I couldn't manage to find anything good in it. Even the things that were good were changed into negative things. My glass was half empty.

One fateful night I met with my bishop, he gave me some inspired advice. Sometimes in life we have the calm before the storm. Other times in life we get the storm first. It's a way to be humbled and prepared. He gave me an incredible article to read and sent me on my way. As I read the article I realized that it was a message I, Brooke Jensen, needed to hear. "Look ahead and remember faith is always pointed to the future." Something inside me changed that night, I realized I can't control lots of things in my life, but I get to control how I react and feel about those things. I decided to stop being so irritated and down about the things I can't change, but rather just embrace them. The past couple of weeks I couldn't have been any happier, things were just going my way. The beautiful part of it all, nothing spectacular happened, I was just happy with MY life.

Moving forward is the theme of the article, not looking back and longing for the days of yesterday. I needed help realizing that. Most importantly I feel like I was being prepared for tonight's events. I know I've been so focused on a previous boyfriend and the time that I shared with him. I knew I wasn't supposed to marry him and moved on, kind of. I did what I was told to do, but not with faith. This article helped me see the error in my ways, and was the final push that I needed to let all the way go. Tonight I found out that, that same boyfriend is engaged, but it's ok. For a second the room started spinning around me, but then shortly there after I was overcome with peace. I have firm faith in my decision and most importantly faith in the road that lies ahead of me.

I don't know that my storm is over yet, but I do know that now I have a better idea of how to weather said storm. I don't need to look back any longer, only forward. Life is what you choose to make out of it, I have so many things to be grateful for, even the imperfections.

"I would like to suggest that we stop seeking the storms in life, and enjoy the sunlight."

"Hello Bombshell"

A few months ago Victoria Secret came out with their latest life changing bra, the only difference.... This one really is! I knew I couldn't try it because then I would REALLY want it. Well I finally gave into temptation and decided to try it on. It was love at first wear, at that moment I knew I needed it. Well much to my dismay these amazing things cost an arm and a leg.... $50! YIKES! Sadly I put my new "bosom buddy" (HAHA! That is funny) down and left a very sad Brooke. Lucky for me I work at a credit union, no I didn't decided to steal the money, but open a share titled "Bombshell". Ten dollars from my paycheck gets put into that account almost as soon as I'm paid. After my first paycheck in March I will be marching right down to my neighborhood Victoria Secret and purchasing said bra!

Will I look like that in my bra?! Absolutely NOT! Will I be the happiest girl in America?! Most likely! :)

Things on my mind...

I know, I've been on a blogging hiatus. Unfortunately I don't have any good reason, other then I feel like nothing of consequence is going on in my life. I go to school Monday through Thursday by 7:00 a.m., yes seven, and also Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 to 12:20. (fun lunch uh?!) I'm still working 40 hours a week. Naturally that doesn't leave much time to do other fun things... I wish I had something oh so excited to blog about, but alas I do not. So, I will blog about the boring things going on in my life. The real life, the not so glamorous things in everyday life. Now no one can complain about how boring their life is....
-Money has been tight lately! And by tight I mean, tighter then a fat person in spandex! I think I've made it through my biggest expenses, but I'm incredibly depressed every time I look at my account. I think I need to seriously revisit a budget, and pray that I'll win the lottery.
-I feel so blessed to have work right now, not only work, but a job that I really do enjoy. Things aren't perfect there, and there is one thing that could make it better, but I choose to ignore the Village Idiot most days.
-Yesterday Verizon Wireless sent me over the edge, I did something I've never done. I called the customer service department and vented my frustration. I know I can be an outspoken person, but when I'm upset I have a hard time getting myself to say something. So it felt oh so good to say something yesterday! Good job Brooke.
-I feel like I live alone right now, which makes me sad, but I'm grateful I have a house. Actually in general I feel quite alone. I feel like I'm in need of a special someone, wither that means a best friend or a boyfriend. It's ok though, I'm praying for someone and I'll take whatever I'm given. I know prayers are answered.
-I love the pink, red, and hearts that are every where right now, not because I like Valentine's day, but because it signifies my day of birth! In case you didn't know I L-O-V-E my birthday... I just need something to do now.
-Haiti.... breaks my little heart.
-I've decided that I'm quite a sass. Not because of my attitude, but because of my clothes. Judge me if you'd like for being self confident, maybe even a tad arrogant, but I decided this week I really like my clothes. It's joy in the simple things in life right?
-Math is a real struggle this semester... the fact that's it's at 7am doesn't help, but I think my teacher is 101 years old. I concentrate so much on the fact that he is still living that I tend to not absorb the information being presented. Moving on to English there are so REAL characters in there. I think 90% of my class decided to try college out the day class started. Which kind of makes me mad. I had to take a placement test to get into English 1010, I didn't score high enough so I had to take Writing 990. How did these crazies place into that class!? BOO!
-I did something brave, three weeks ago. I finally told Kason I couldn't be even a friend to him anymore. It's so hard letting go of people who have met so much to you. Kason was my first real love and moving on has been a task. Sometimes to move forward we have to be willing to let go 100%. I wish him nothing but the best in life.
-I feel very grateful for my friends. Life has taken us all in very different ways, and it's incredible to me how close most of us have stayed. We've lost one, but I think it's been her loss not ours.
-Anyone has Haggerman's sugar cookies!? Yum-e!
-I recently found a quote that I really like, nay love, "We are only as happy as we make up our minds to be." Abe Lincoln.
-I'm terribly self conscious of my spelling. I've never been to good at it.
-Why is it that my bronzer, hairspray, and toothpaste all run out on the same day?! :(
This is it folks, all I have to offer!

My Bentley filled weekend...

What did I do with a four day weekend? I found out what it was like to be a parent... Friday morning Heidi was scheduled to have her baby, so Thursday night I headed to her house to sleepover so they could leave EARLY. Thus being a parent comes into play. I had James and Josh from there on out, until today. They were such good boys for me and I LOVED having them. (I'm actually a little sad tonight not having them around.) Due to flu season the boys didn't get to meet their new little brother until today when he came home, but they were so cute, and SO excited all weekend. We kept ourselves busy with coloring, decorating, visits to the hospital (even though we couldn't see Jackson), trips to Grandma's, sleepover with Aiden and Andrew, and so forth. I really did have so much fun with those boys and couldn't love them anymore.
The newest Bentley, Jackson Frank Bentley, he is pretty darn cute!
Saturday Brad took the boys for a while, so I headed to the hospital so I could spend sometime with Heidi and baby. I'm pretty sure I over stayed my welcome, but I just couldn't get enough of baby Jackson. I did give Heidi a good foot and leg rub, so maybe that counteracts my overstayed welcome?
I think all of us didn't get enough sleep all weekend. Every time we would stop moving for 5 minutes or more those boys were out, I guess it could just be that I'm pretty fun! We colored pictures for Heidi and took them to the hospital so we could give them to her. The boys were so cute, they drew pictures of themselves so they could give them to baby Jackson so he could see what they looked like.
I had the time of my life with those boys, and am thankful for the health of both Heidi and Jackson.

Ode to my Mother.

Since Monday I've been fighting being sick, today it hit full force, to make matters worse today is my day off. Who wouldn't want to spend a day off sick in bed?! Being sick and home alone is zero fun, which brings me to the point of this blog post. Growing up I had the mother of all mother's. When we were sick she would drop everything to take care of us. Today I'm missing that. It's amazing how feel good foods magical appeared, laundry got it's self done, and the clean up cleaned it's self. Okay, I realize that was all my mother's doing. I'm thankful for all the endless hours she spent taking care of sick kids, and being a perfect mom!

Thanks Mom!

The Cupcake Challenge

We take working very seriously! However one occasion everyone needs to play... so I invented the cupcake challenge. What's the challenge you ask? Eating an entire cupcake in one bite. Meagan failed miserably, Zach did pretty good, Chris made us all look bad.
This posses the question.... Working hard? Or Hardly working?

* Side note: I did participate in my own game, we just didn't take pictures. I did complete the challenge successfully.

The Bright Side...

I've decided to have a theme for 2010, drum roll please.......... "The Bright Side". Things aren't always perfect in life, but I do think everything in life has a bright side. For the year 2010 I'm going to choose to find the bright in things! Here's to New Year's resolutions, 2010, and The Bright Side!

"A weary world rejoices!"

I can hardly believe that it's the 20th of December! I can remember as child thinking how long it took the days of December to pass. Today as I think about it already being the 20th my heart hurts a little. Where did the month go? I feel I've hardly felt the spirit of Christmas and it's been my own selfish fault.
This month I've been so caught up in dating woes, work drama, and trying my best to make it to the end of a school semester, I've hardly even remembered we are in the Christmas season. Although I've missed out on so much of the Christmas magic, one thing has spoken to me all season. Every time I hear the song "Oh Holy Night" the line "A weary world rejoices" has stuck out to me. There have been many times at work that I'm caught up in the hustle and bustle and I will suddenly hear that line, instantly my mind thinks of a new born babe laying in a manger.
I love the picture that the line has brought to my mind throughout the season. I can almost envision lost and weary people needing something more in their lives. Through the birth of our Savior there was hope and something more... I need to personally remember that more in my own life. Although things aren't perfect in my life I do have the greatest gift of them all, a Savior. And for that I'm very thankful.
I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and will continue to rejoice!

Bake Day...

One of my favorite Christmas traditions.... bake day. All the Jensen women get together and bake cookies, bake more cookies, and then bake even more cookies..... Final count 2,025!
