Why I love the 4th....

There are so many reasons that I love the 4th of July! Here are just a few...
-NO WORK!!!!
-Being with my family.
-Going up to my cabin.
-fireworks
-yummy food
-it's an official sign of summer
-the Oakley rodeo (although I haven't been in awhile)
-4-wheeling
-knowing I have nothing do to.
-Getting to celebrate our nation's birthday. (it's almost as big as mine!)
I hope everyone has a happy safe 4th of July!

SLC here I come!

I only have 3 hours and 24 minutes left of work!!! I'm so ready to be on my way! It is hot, hot, hot down here. I'm excited to be spending my weekend with my family at one of our most favorite places! Our cabin. It will be a wonderful weekend full of my favorite thing, doing absolutely nothing! HEAVEN!!! Let's just hope that I can find my way up to my cabin tomorrow, I've been up there probably a million times, but I don't think I've ever driven it myself. I'm also pretty tired, so pray that I can stay awake for the drive up. See you all soon! LOVES!

Thoughts for Tuesday...

-Today is technically Tuesday, but really like a Wednesday!
-I'm never having children, for a couple of reason. First being that I don't want to see them get hurt, second I'm WAY to SELFISH, third you have to be really responsible (not me!), and fourth I have brothers and sisters that can birth my suddo children!
-Mom and Dad bought me a laptop! How wonderful are they! :)
-I went to Cafe Rio and ate lunch for $1.03! Nothing beats a free meal!
-A lady came in and sang to one of the tellers today. Who does that?
-The wall next to my desk shares a wall with the bathroom and I think the fan is going to drive me into insanity!
-"Gary on the kick drum come, come!" (Not really sure where that one came from, but it made me laugh when I thought about it.)
-I'm going to Hawaii in January!
-It's supposed to be 111 degrees this weekend in SG! Glad I'm coming up to SLC!
-Facebook is my new guilty pleasure.
-I can't find David Cook's song "Always be my baby" on itunes! I'm pretty bent!
-Jamie thought that James really had a lucky golf ball. Seriously Jamie?!
-Jill doesn't comment on my blog very often! Thanks!
-I'm so excited to go up to SLC Thursday night.
-I'm even more excited for Bridget to Brookesit me Thursday night.
-Annie Neider is my new best friend, wither she likes is or not. Hear that Annie, we WILL be friends!
-I miss Kirstin's comments on my blog! (Please don't tone it down!)
-Maga thinks I have a gambling problem! I promise I don't!
-Jeff's comments usually make me laugh the hardest!
I think that's all for today! I hope everyone who reads this has an amazing day!

Maga is the BEST!

Ok, I know this is a really gross picture of me! Maga is seriously the best! In a previous post I mentioned that I would be really good gambling in Vegas. I guess that caused some alarm to Maga. Cute, wonderful, amazing Maga gave me $20 so I wouldn't make my way down there to try my luck! I guess she thought I had a gambling problem! So Maga rest assured, I will not be making my way down to Vegas to gamble any time soon!

A great start!

My families visit started off a little rocky. Most people were here by Wednesday night, so Thursday we decided we would go play at some fountains in Downtown St. George. We hadn't been at the fountains for more then 15 minutes when James fell. I watched him fall and didn't think much of it, when he stood up he had blood running down his little face. I ran over to him and to my horror his head was much worse then I thought it was. I grabbed him and started to apply pressure to his cut. My mom and Amy looked at it and we decided that he was going to need stitches. My mom, Jenny, James, and I headed to the ER, Heidi met us there. 14 snitches later, and one upset brave little boy, our family vacation started improving! We were all so impressed with how well James handled it!

BETTER THEN CHRISTMAS!

I have been telling myself for the past month if I could make it today I'd be set. Well it's finally here, the Jensen clan should start arriving around 6:00ish tonight. YAY!!!! I now I have friends until next Wednesday. Trent and Amy and their kids come down tonight! I'm taking the oldest three to go see Kung Fo Panda, I'm pretty excited. (I hope their drive goes well so we can make it) Mom, Heidi, Jenny, James, and Josh come down tomorrow. I'm thinking In-N-Out to celebrate their arrival! Then Thursday Jamie, Jill, and Annie. AHHHHH!!!!! We will have a party when they get here! It will be fun to have my family down here in my element. I'm so excited to see everyone and get to spend so much time with them. Best of all..... NO WORK!!!! I have Thursday and Friday off to do what I do best, a whole lot of nothing! Now I just have to get through today!:(

Sunscreen?

Saturday after I finished writing my talk I decided I would go catch some sun at the pool. I hadn't been out in the sun at all this summer. You would think I would have thought to apply sunscreen rather then tanning lotion right?! Nope! I just kept applying tanning lotion for three hours. BRILLIANT! This is what happened, one bad sunburn, an extremely painful shower, and a very valuable lesson learned!

DOUBLES!!!!

Last night we had the Southern Utah League of Credit Unions BBQ. I had a surprisingly good time, it was really fun and low key. We went to a park played a few water games and ate dinner. Then came the best part of the evening.... tape ball. Everyone rolls the dice and when you roll doubles you can start unwrapping the ball. There is a $20 bill in the middle the person who gets to the middle gets the money! Well I was rollin lucky last night, and guess what... I WON!!! Ben and I actually tag teamed it, he was rollin pretty lucky as well. Ben and I went out to celebrate my winnings, we went to Cold Stone. I had a gift card so we only had to pay $1.43. The rest went to gas, BOOOOO!!! If anyone is going to Vegas let me come with, I roll lucky!

How Fragile Life Is.

Today on ksl.com there is a story about a little girl who was riding her bike last night and hit/got hit by a car. She was thrown from her bike and and sustained head trauma and inter bleeding. She didn't have a helmet on, so her head took the brunt of the fall! They life flighted her to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition, and she is still there this morning. I don't know why but it struck such a cord with me, I was honestly fighting back tears as I read the story. I'm thoughts are prayers are with the family and the driver. It really is scary to stop and think about how fragile life really is. You never think your going to be the one that is in a situation like this, but it happens. I have just wanted to call everyone and tell them that I love them! I hope everything turns out ok for everyone involved! Please put helmets on your kids!

Space Heater

Ok, now I know I live in St. George, but since everything is so bloody hot outside, everything inside is FREEZING!!! Yes it is 103 today, but I do have a space heater at my desk! I wear skirts or dresses everyday at work, and all I do is sit, so I get really cold really fast. Plus we keep the branch at about 69, thats cold when all you do is sit!

An eventful Tuesday.

Ben and I went and saw Kung Fu Panda last night. I loved it! It was such a cute feel good movie, if I had kids I would for sure take them to go see it. I laughed through the entire movie. I think I'm going to go see it again next Tuesday with my twin nephews.
Clearly I'm to stressed out these days. Yes... that is a grey hair I found in my bangs! Who starts going grey at 19! I guess I do, to much stress. It's time for a vacation, and I get one next week. (well kind of) My family is coming down and I have Thursday and Friday off! YAY!!!
St. George is a bug ridden city, but I didn't think my apartment was. Last night I found this little guy in my bathroom. Can you tell what it is? It's scorpion!!!! Thankfully it was just a baby one, but still! Unfortunately this is just his remains, I killed the little "bug"ger (heehee) just as quickly as I could!

I'm done with FHE!!!!

Last night I went to Family Home Evening for the first time in my new ward. Big mistake... I got there and they asked my to play the piano, I hate when people in my ward know I can play. After the lesson, the second counselor asked me if I would meet with him for a minute. We walked to the bishops office and he said, "Can I talk to you for a minute in here?" I said, "Sure, as long as I'm not getting a calling!" He just stared blankly back at me, I knew I was in trouble. He started to explain to me that I had made some comments in Relief Society two weeks before that impressed Sister Noble. (the relief society president)(I also want to know what I said that impressed someone, lets be honest, I'm not the deepest of people!) He said, " I know this is all happening fast, but sometimes when the Lord knows he wants something he doesn't waste anytime." He then extended a calling to me. Wonderful, I'm now the Enrichment Director, or something like that. I left the office a little over whelmed, ok really over whelmed! We have an activity in two weeks that I need to pull together! As I was walking out I ran into the Bishop and we started talking, the other counselor showed up as well. He said, "How would you like to speak on Sunday?" I started laughing, he couldn't be serious! I've only been in the ward for two weeks. He stared blankly back and me and said, "I'm being serious!" I just stared back and him waiting for him to show a sign of sarcasm, no such luck. He said, "Wonderful your topic is Miracles and Jesus Christ." So I'm speaking on Sunday. I left FHE feeling over whelmed, but knowing that prayers had just been answered! I did learn a very valuable lesson, DON'T GO TO FHE!

What is our world coming to?!

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=157&sid=54963
I usually check ksl.com a couple times during my work day, today was this article about gay and lesbian "rights to marry" in California. It honestly made me sick how these people try to justify what they are doing! It's scary to think how sick and twisted society is becoming. It makes me not want to have kids, what is the world going to be like then?! I agree the the Roman Catholic Bishop in the article that said, "The church cannot approve of redefining marriage, which has a unique place in God's creation, joining a man and a woman in a committed relationship." Amen! People are crazy, and I hope this decision is reversed in November when people can vote on it!

Some final thoughts for the week...

I've had a few thoughts this week that I would like to share...
-Maga is a saint, I'm pretty sure, her calling and election has been made sure!
-It amazes me how many people have bad credit, and how it never seems to be their fault.
-Everything in the finical world is ALWAYS someone else's fault.
-I really don't like quite. I'd rather have noise and commotion!
-I'm so excited for Hawaii.
-I couldn't be more excited for my family to come down in two weeks.
-Jill is still alive.
-I really wish money grew on trees!
-Where is Mr. Right? Heck, I'll even take, Mr. I'll Take You On A Date!
-Free food always tastes better!
-Jamie told me she wanted to punch a baby! (but not hers)
-I kind of can scrapbook.
-Mom is the BEST mom ever.
-Jenny kills me with the stuff she comes up with.
-Living alone is WAY overrated.
-GAS!?!?!?
-Old peopel are either sweet or grouchy. There is no grey area.

When will is stop?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously!! Gas is OUT OF CONTROL!! It's a good thing people come and visit me in St. George because I can no longer afford to drive to SLC! So it has been nice knowing all of you wonderful people, I probably won't see you again until I move back up. Yep, gas is that much down here in St. George, $4.05 a gallon. By the beginning of July.... $5.00, that's what they are saying! When is this madness going to STOP!? (I have to fill up today!)
